So when my sis was here a few weeks ago, my parents took all of us to Oklahoma to eat with the Amish. (Actually, I think they may be Mennonite, but I'm not sure?). It is a little expensive, but a really awesome experience! I highly recommend going if you are looking for something to do for a special occasion.
Our 'family style' meal consisted of slow cooked beef (like a roast), chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans (soooooo fresh & yummy!!), chicken & noodles, and rolls. Everything was homemade from scratch & I THINK grown & raised right there on the property. As my sister would say...YUMMICALES!!!
It was kind of hard to get good pictures, because the dining room was SO full of people & you share a table with people you don't know. But I managed a few:
A little sleepy after a long day & a wonderful meal!!
We also went to the Bass Pro shop that day, which is always fun too! I remember my very first trip to Bass Pro when I was 12. I went with my next door neighbor & her family and I thought it was the coolest place EVER because of the glass elevators. We rode those elevators over & over & over that day. Ahhhh.......memories!! LOL
