Kings River Fun!

Saturday was a beautiful day, so Jeff and I decided to take a "scouting" trip to the King's River. We have some family coming in from California this weekend for a huge family reunion, and we want to take them there Saturday and hike to the falls. The trip got off to a bit rough start and we ended up lost in the back backwoods of AR!! Long story short, we turned right when we should have turned left...crazy. The darn map we had completely steered us wrong, but luckily we found a hill with enough cell phone service to call my dad and got back on the right track. And thank goodness we were in the Jeep & not the 'certified' jeep-Civic! LOL! It was a great day full of great fun. Here are some pictures of the day...

Jeff did some fishin...

I did some loafin...

These CRAZY kids actually had the nerve to jump off the rocks into the FREEZING cold water below!!! Actually, the girl did it - but I'm not too sure about the 2 boys that were with her. I think they chickened out. I don't blame them!!! The sun wasn't even out much to warm them up.

While we were "lost", we came across an old church building. We went in & saw some old pews & this old piano. I'd sure love to know it's history!!!

Jeff in front of the church. It amazes me these little communities that are just out in the middle of nowhere.

The wild flowers were one of my favorite parts of the day. They were gorgeous!!!

And my favorite wildflower of all - the wild iris!! So pretty

I sure hope our family from California has as much fun as we did!!!
