.................Old old house

With all the snow we got this weekend, my dad decided to get out & take some pictures. We got about 7 inches or so & it was truly beautiful! (even for this girl who hates the cold) Well, there is an extremely old colonial home tucked way back in the brush here in Fayetteville. The homestead includes a barn, a spring house, a couple of sheds, and a smoke house out back. It is in horrible condition & on private property, so we had to get special permission to go there. Of course, I love old abandoned houses, so this was so exciting for me! It's amazing that this house is right in the middle of Fayetteville, yet I never knew about it till my dad took me there! Apparently, it was featured in the movie/mini series "The Blue and the Gray", but now is all boarded up and completely shut off from the world. We tried to get inside, but the owners have sealed it pretty good. There is no getting in, but there is 1 window we could peek in. Man, i would love to know the stories behind these walls!!
